Volkswagen new Golf GTI variants with improved efficiency set to unveil at Geneva Motor Show

The Volkswagen GTI known for its power-packed performance, and with that performance and improved efficiency, Volkswagen is all set to unveil the new Golf GTI variant along with Volkswagen Golf GTD model at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show starting from March 5th, 2013. Here for the first time, Golf GTI will be available with two variants of power which includes the standard GTI 220-PS and the GTI Performance with 230-PS, are 18% more efficient than the previous model and offers the large brake discs with a mechanical front limited-slip differential. In the segment of compact sports car, the new Golf GTI variant, equipped with 4-cylinder turbocharged direct injection petrol Engine, which is capable of generating an output of 217 horsepower[220 PS or 162 kilo-Watts] and  a top torque of 350 Nm, which make it sprint 0 to 62 miles/hour in 6.5 seconds with a top speed of 152 miles/hour[244.62 km/hour], while the other Golf GTI Performance variant, is capable of producing an output of 227 horsepower[230 PS or 169 kilo-Watts] and a same top torque of 350 Nm, which makes it dash 0 to 62 miles/hour in 6.4 seconds with a top speed of 155 miles/hour[249.44 km/hour]. Following the 2014 EU-6 emissions regulation standard, both variants with 6-speed manual gearbox, delivers equal low fuel consumption of 16.66 km/liter[6 liters for 100 km or 47 miles/gallon] which is a 18% improvement as compared to the previous variant and CO2 emission of 139 grams/km. With a Stop/Start system, the standard Golf GTI variant with optional 6-speed DSG gearbox, delivers  fuel economy of 15.62 km/liter[6.4 liters for 100 km or 44.1 miles/gallon] and CO2 emission of 148 grams/km, while the Golf GTI Performance variant with optional 6-speed DSG gearbox, delivers a fuel economy of 15.38 km/liter[6.5 liters for 100 km or 43.5 miles/gallon] and CO2 emission of 149 grams/km. The exterior is equipped with various features like 17-inch ‘Brooklyn’ alloy wheels[18-inch ‘Austin’ alloys will be standard in the UK], sports suspension, smoked LED rear lights, LED number-plate illumination, specially for UK the bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights., Red-painted brake callipers, 2 chrome tailpipes, special side sills and a rear diffuser. While the interior is featured with sports steering wheel, sports seats with the classic tartan cloth upholstery, red ambience lighting, a black roof-lining , sporty gear lever and instrument cluster , trim strips and stainless steel pedal caps. In the driving dynamics, it offers best level of comfort and safety as a standard feature in Golf GTI.

The new Golf GTI can booked in Germany from March, 5th 2013 with a starting price of €28,350. While the orders in U.K. can booked from March, 26th 2013 where the new Golf GTI deliveries starts from June and pricing for  U.K. will be announced when confirmed.
