Today on February, 7th 2013, Toyota at the press preview day of 2013 Chicago Auto Show , has premiered the aggressive looks of redesigned 2014 Toyota Tundra full-size pickup truck specially for the market of North America. The top powertrain of 2014 Tundra has the same 5.7 Litre V-8 Engine, and has loading capacity of more than 2000 pounds while towing capacity of 10,000 pounds, and following the new SAE’s standard of towing and meeting the demands of customers from toeing to real time day today fuel economy.
Interior, Technology and Equipment : The 2014 Tundra featured with saddle-brown premium leather seating and Ultrasuede accents, bold contrast stitching and an exclusive logo, center stack 2.6 inches closer for easier access, new gauge, cluster with distinctive styling, is easier to view, largest front brakes , standard knee airbags, a new Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert on premium models, class-leading eight standard airbags, exclusive STAR Safety System , Vehicle Stability Control and Smart Stop Technology. In the exterior the new design with aggressive front look with wider and taller grille showing the high pulling power inside Tundra. The bold look additionally created through raising the hood by 1.6 inches. With the new distinctive bumper of 1 to 3 pieces, gives grade differentiation with less replacement costs. Both premium models include LED daytime running lights.
Five Grades Variants : The 2014 Tundra has five distinct grades each with a “unique flavor” differentiating each other not only in loaded features and equipment but from exterior also by different style front grille. The details of grades are: The SR grade is an entry-level Tundra designed primarily for the work-use buyer who will value its excellent utility on the job and includes convenience features like Display Audio with integrated Backup Camera and Bluetooth as standard features. The SR5 will continue is big selling model with a great mix of style and capability. SR and SR5 differentiated by chrome grille surround,fog lights,satellite radio,and optional 18-inch alloy wheels.The Limited, like the model behind me, will have a character that is active and premium with a unique grille insert, chrome accents, and 20-inch alloy wheels.Inside heated leather bucket seats with power driver controls, wood grain trim and Display Audio with navigation and Entune add to the Limited’s well-appointed character.
The Limited model Features the TRD Off-Road Package with unique 18-inch wheels, dedicated off-road tires, and performance springs and shocks. The Platinum grade will have an urban contemporary edge appealing to a new generation of truck buyers with perforated black premium leather seats and double stitching on the seats, doors and instrument panel inserts – along with chrome trim and brushed metallic accents.
Engine and Efficiency : All the three powertrain of 2014 Tundra have the same powertrain of current variants : In the 4×2 only variant of Tundra has V6 4.0 Litre Engine with 24-valve VVT-i, has a horsepower of 270 at 5,600 rpm and torque of 278 lb.-ft. at 4,400 rpm, while EPA Estimated Fuel Economy in the city 16 MPG and on highwary 20 MPG. The 4×2 and 4×4 variant of Tundra has V8 4.6 Litre DOHC EFI Engine with 32-valve VVT-i, has a horsepower of 327 at 5,600 and torque of 327 lb.-ft. at 3,400 rpm, while an EPA Estimated Fuel Economy for 4×2/4×4 in the city 15/14 MPG and on highwary 20/19 MPG. While in the top variant of Tundra, it has V8 5.7 Litre DOHC EFI with 32-valve DUAL VVT-i, capable of generating a horsepower of 381 at 5,600 rpm and torque of 401 lb.-ft. at 3,600 rpm, while an EPA Estimated Fuel Economy for 4×2/4×4 in the city 14/13 MPG and on highwary 18/17 MPG.
The 2014 Toyota Tundra is assembled in San Antonio, Texas and will reach to Toyota dealership in the month of September 2013.
