Volkswagen America has announced that it is going to add a new Passat model to the brand’s lineup. At the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Volkswagen presented the Passat Performance Concept which was quite liked by the attendees, so the German major has decided to offer a production version of the concept. The 2014 Volkswagen Passat Sport is the new trim that will be positioned between the mid-level SE and the range-topping SEL Premium trims. Being based on the concept shown last year, the Passat Sport takes a number of design cues from the concept car.

Design highlights of the 2014 Passat Sport include 19-inch Luxor wheels, a rear spoiler, foglights, a unique interior with sport comfort seats, carbon trim accents, aluminum sport pedals, paddle shifters (automatic transmission only), stainless steel door sills, and Sport-specific floor mats.
