At the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, Vauxhall will present its most powerful front wheel drive car ever. Dubbed Vauxhall Astra VXR EXTREME, the car has been derived from Astra Cup race car that competed in the Nürburgring Endurance Championship last year. Taking the Astra Cup race car as the base, Vauxhall has developed the EXTREME model which is even lighter and more powerful. Vauxhall used a good number of carbon fiber components, and the result is the VXR EXTREME which is 100 kg lighter than the Astra Cup race car.

This car is a complete track ready machine and Vauxhall plans to go ahead with the production of the car provided it is well received by visitors at the 84th International Motor Show. Powering the track-oriented VXR EXTREME is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine featuring direct injection and variable camshaft phasing. This little engine produces a mind boggling 300 PS
