Shelby is the word synonymous to performance and the one car that actually put Shelby ahead of other manufacturers in the 60s is the Cobra. That iconic piece of machinery would give any car enthusiast goose bumps. The original Cobra was exciting and immensely powerful, and talked only performance. In 1964, Shelby American, which is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI:PK), launched the FIA Cobra. This special version competed with Aston Martin, Jaguar and Corvette in 1964’s World Manufacturers Championship series.

Exactly fifty years later, in 2014, celebrating the birth of the FIA Cobra and paying a tribute to the same, Shelby American is going to offer 50 limited edition continuation (CSX7000) Shelby 289 FIA Cobras.
