Volvo Presents V60 Plug-In Hybrid R-Design Model

The Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid is one of the most successful hybrid vehicles in Europe and recorded great sales in the year 2013. Broadening the vehicle’s appeal, Volvo has unveiled the V60 plug-in hybrid in Volvo’s R-Design specification. The company has started taking bookings for the R-Design model with deliveries expected to begin from August this year. As far as the pricing goes, the Volvo V60 D6 AWD R-Design Lux Nav is available from £51,675, excluding the plug-in hybrid grant of £5000.

The exterior as well as the interior of the vehicle is quite unique. The exterior features R-Design grille and front bumper, 18-inch Ixion wheels and a rear diffuser. Citroen C4 Now Available With New, Fuel-Efficient PureTech Engine

Citroen has been sincerely working on new, fuel efficient engines for a really long time and the outcome is the PureTech family. The PureTech family of engines was first launched in 2012 and in the past two years it has grown bigger. Citroen has started introducing the new PureTech engines on its new generation models and Citroen C4 is the latest one to get it. The 2014 Citroen C4 will be available with a new 3-cylinder e-THP 130 PureTech engine which features technologies like a direct-injection turbocharger and variable valve timing.

Talking in terms of performance, the new e-THP 130 engine is capable of putting out 130 hp of max power available at 5,500 rpm and peak torque of 230 Nm available from 1750 rpm. Peugeot 308 Powered By 1.2L PureTech Petrol Engine Returns 99.1MPG

There are a handful of car manufacturers who focus more on other important achievements than just six to seven figure yearly sales. One of them is French major Peugeot, who has recently set a new benchmark with its all new Peugeot 308. Peugeot 308, which was recently awarded the European Car Of the Year 2014, has received the new 1.2 Liter PureTech turbocharged petrol engine, completing the engines range. The good news for potential 308 buyers is that Peugeot has managed to achieve a record 99.1 mpg and a full fuel tank range of 1124.7 miles with the PureTech powered model.

These figures were achieved at the Almeria circuit in Spain and to witness the record-setting run was the Union Technique de l’Automobile, Motocycle et Cycle a.k.a UTAC. Hyundai PassoCorto: An Ultra Light-Weight Sports Car Concept At Geneva

Lately, Hyundai has been sincerely working towards developing cars specifically for the European market, and that too for young generation. In an attempt to show the company’s potential, Hyundai has unveiled its latest concept car at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Named Hyundai PassoCorto, it is an ultra lightweight sports car concept that will be aimed at Generation Y consumers. The design of the sports car concept was created by students at the renowned Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Turin, Italy.

Sixteen students pursuing Transportation Design masters’ course at IED were asked to design the car that they would like to buy and drive and the result is the PassoCorto. The name of the car is an Italian word which means ‘short wheelbase’. Although not much has been disclosed about the car by Hyundai, the manufacturer did tell us a couple of facts though. New Nissan Juke For European Market Unveiled At Geneva

Nissan has unveiled the revised Nissan Juke SUV for the European market at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. In short, the new Juke features a restyled exterior, advanced NissanConnect system, Nissan Safety Shield, Around View Monitor 4-camera parking system, 40 percent more cargo space, opening sunroof and Xenon lights. Interestingly, for this year as well, Nissan has managed to retain the not so pleasing styling on the Juke but it looks slightly better thanks to the new headlamps taken from the all new Nissan 370Z.

The front and rear look more sporty thanks to the slightly tweaked design cues and the new opening glass roof. Some of external highlights include Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lights, new trim beneath the front bumper and new door mirrors featuring LED side turn indicators. All New Audi TT And TTS Coupe To Debut At Geneva On March 6th

Audi has released the first pictures of the all new Audi TT which is scheduled to make its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show on March 6. And sharing the stage with the new TT at Geneva will be the new TTS Coupe. The third generation Audi TT features a massively upgraded design which is significantly more dynamic than the previous generation TT. The front, instead of a curvy design, now features horizontal lines, a new singleframe grille, V bonnet bearing the Audi badge, and large air intakes featuring struts.

The most striking feature on the exterior is the flat Xenon headlights which come as standard, while Audi Matrix LED technology is an optional extra. Proportion wise the new TT is 4.18 metres long, 1,832 mm wide and 1,353 mm tall, and has a 2,505 mm long wheelbase (37 mm longer than its predecessor). The car is available with



2014 Fiat 500 With TwinAir Engine And Cult Variant At Geneva Motor Show

Fiat is going to unveil the 2014 Fiat 500 at the 84th International Motor Show which starts in Geneva tomorrow. The new Fiat 500 has been improved both in terms styling and technological features, and the most important introduction is a new, segment-first, 7 inch TFT digital instrument panel. Developed in collaboration with Magnetti Marelli, the display provides all the information relevant about various features of the car. While the earlier versions came fitted with analogue dials, the TFT display is a major step up yet it seems extremely familiar to the previous layout.

The center of the screen, which displays the car by default, can be configured to display distance travelled, fuel consumption, etc. The same screen also warns the driver in case of low fuel, open doors etc. Apart from the all new screen, another important addition is the new TwinAir engine. New Citroen C1 To Debut At 2014 Geneva Motor Show

With plans to stir the European hatchback segment yet again, Citroen is going to premier the all new Citroen C1 small car at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Launched back in 2005, Citroen has sold more than 760,000 units of this car and with the freshly designed C1, the French major expects to set new benchmarks. Interestingly, for 2014, Citroen will offer the C1 in both three door and five door versions, as well as an open top variant called Airscape. The exterior of the new C1 has been sincerely updated and features black windscreen pillars, chrome-finish weather strips, two-part headlamps and round inserts, vertical daytime running LED lights, a glass tailgate, and square lights which create a 3D effect.

Citroen will offer the C1 city car in eight exterior color options which include Lipizan White, Gallium Grey Caldéra Black, Carlinite Grey, Smalt Blue, Olive Brown, Sunrise Red, and Scarlet Red, as well



New Ford Focus Arrives With New Design, Engines, Features And More

Ford has unveiled the all new Ford Focus which is hugely improved over its predecessor. In short, the all new Focus a completely new design featuring Ford’s new face, packs more advanced technologies, is more equipped and comes with an upgraded powertrain lineup. The car has made its debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and will officially be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. Opel Astra GTC With 1.6L 200 HP Engine Starts From 25,250 Euros

If you have been reading our blog on a regular basis, you would remember the Astra GTC by Vauxhall which is  now available with a more powerful engine. Being the sister company of Vauxhall, Opel has also launched the Opel Astra GTC, which is essentially the same car, with a more powerful engine. Powering the Opel Astra GTC is a new generation 1.6 ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine which produces a max of 200 horsepower. With a more powerful engine and a small body structure, the Astra GTC can accelerate to 100 km/h from a standstill in 7.9 seconds and also achieves the 80 to 120 km/h sprint in fifth gear in the same time.

All New Nissan Qashqai To Be Part Of Nissan Innovation and Excitement Event

A while ago, Nissan unveiled the 2015 Nissan Qashqai for the European market and yes, it has been well received. The next big news in regard to the Qashqai is that it is going to be the center of attraction of a four day Nissan Innovation and Excitement Event to be held at Gateshead’s BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. Starting this Saturday, January 18, the event will feature rare concept images, a Qashqai showreel cinema and the new Qashqai itself. There will also be a ceremony at the plant on January 22 marking the launch of the crossover.

Volkswagen is coming-up with a zero-emission compact car – the e-up! a new Electric Vehicle[EV] , which will be premiered with an advanced electric technology, at the 65th Frankfurt International Motor Show[IAA - Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung or International Automobile Exhibition], in Germany, starting from September, 12th to 22nd, 2013 .
