The X5 is one of the well known names when we talk about fuel efficient SUVs but BMW knew it could do even better and so, they have introduced a new hybrid concept based on the X5 which is claimed to raise efficiency to a whole new level. Dubbed BMW Concept X5 eDrive, the car not only comes with a hybrid drivetrain but also equips BMW’s X-Drive Intelligent all-wheel-drive system, meaning it will be ultra efficient even while using all the four wheels. The hybrid drivetrain comprises of an internal combustion engine and BMW eDrive technology, Majority of the power comes from the four cylinder, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology petrol engine that produces 245 hp or 180 kW while an additional 95 hp or 70 kW is offered by an electric motor.

The torque output of the electric motor is 250 Nm and offers a top speed of 75 mph.
