Audi TT Offroad Concept Unveiled At 2014 Beijing Motor Show

Audi has unveiled an all new hybrid concept car at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. This four door, radical looking concept is called Audi TT Offroad Concept and it is based on, you guessed it, the new generation Audi TT. The TT Offroad Concept is a capable utility vehicle which has a coupe-like styling and features a hybrid powertrain, meaning it would deliver astounding performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency. Powering the plug-in hybrid is a combination of drivetrains: a 2.0 liter TFSI petrol engine and two electric motors.

The 2.0 liter TFSI petrol heart produces 292 PS and peak torque of 380 Nm. Paired to the internal combustion engine via a separating clutch is an electric motor that delivers an additional 40 kW and peak torque of 220 Nm. There is a second electric motor as well that is mounted on the rear axle and produces 85 kW and 270

The engine propels the coupe model from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds while the roadster version takes 5.6 seconds. Alongside the two sports coupe, Audi also showcased a performance concept based on the all new TT. Dubbed the Audi TT Quattro Sport Concept, the car depicts how extreme the new TT can get. The most important thing about the TT Quattro Sport Concept is its engine which is a 2.0 liter, four cylinder TFSI petrol heart. It indeed is a regular sized engine but the power output is simply astonishing thanks to technologies like Audi valvelift system, dual camshaft adjustment, variable valve timing, and MPI plus FSI direct injection.

The 2.0 liter heart puts out a mind boggling 420 PS at 6700 rpm, meaning 210 PS per liter which is more than what 2001’s Le Mans R18 produced. It also produces 450
