Most of the global manufacturers are gearing up for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show as it is deemed very important. After Suzuki which previewed five concept crossovers to be showed at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru has released the teaser images of its Levorg tourer concept which it plans to unveil at the same event. The Subaru Levorg concept will make its world premiere at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday 20 November.
The Levorg concept is expected to lead to a new vehicle which is currently under development and due for its market launch in Japan next year. The most interesting thing about the car, other than the sketchy yet attractive design profile, is its name which comes from a combination of the words ‘Legacy’, ‘Revolution’ and ‘Touring’. As per Subaru, the Levorg will offer the practicality of a tourer and the styling design and feel of a sports car.
The concept will be powered by an all-new 1.6-litre horizontally-opposed Boxer engine with direct injection turbo (DIT) technology. The engine has been developed exclusively by Subaru and is said to offer smooth performance and greater environmental efficiency. The engine will share space with the concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show booth.
The stage will also be shared by another new concept vehicle called the Crossover 7 concept. It is a seven-seat SUV designed to deliver the practicality of a family car along with true off-road capabilities.
The Subaru press conference at the Tokyo Motor Show is scheduled to start at 08.30 JST on Wednesday 20 November (23.30 GMT on Tuesday 19 November). Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
