Land Rover is going to unveil the all new, limited edition, Range Rover Evoque Autobiography Dynamic model at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. For all those of you who think it is merely a visually upgraded range topping Evoque model, it is not the case. In fact, the Evoque AD (Autobiography Dynamic) is the most powerful, performance-focused Evoque yet, and it will be a part of the 2015 Evoque lineup.
So what is so special about the Evoque AD? Styling wise, as it has been the case with all Autobiography editions, the Evoque AD comes loaded with bodily upgrades including a slightly pumped up body kit and massive 20-inch forged alloy wheels. As for the interior, customers will get premium leather upholstery with ‘Autobiography’ embossed on the headrests of the sport or climate seats.
On the technical front, the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic features a chassis which has been retuned for enhanced driving dynamics, especially for sharper handling. Perhaps, the most important upgrade comes under the hood where Land Rover fits an upgraded 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This is the same standard 2.0 liter heart which now produces 285 PS of power and peak torque of 400 Nm, a significant increase of 45 PS and 60 Nm in comparison to the standard model. The car also comes with an upgraded braking system featuring 350 mm discs up front and 300 mm discs at rear.
Being an Autobiography model, the car also comes in a new, premium metallic, Phoenix orange color.
Moving on the cabin, the Evoque AD also comes with Land Rover InControl Apps, a new addition to the entire Evoque range. The InControl Apps feature uses the vehicle’s touchscreen to display and control vehicle-optimized smartphone apps. Interestingly, it retains the original look of the smartphone app interface and projects it on the touchscreen. iPhone and Android smartphone users only need to connect their devices using the USB cable and enjoy this feature.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the car is expected to cost well above £50,000.
