Ram who happens to be one of the leading pickup truck manufacturers, introduced a Black Express package on the 2014 Ram 1500 recently. With no surprise, the visually enhanced 1500 immediately grabbed the attention of many buyers. Following the impressive response the Black Package received on the 1500, Ram has introduced a similar package on the 2014 Heavy Duty pickup.
The 2014 Ram Heavy Duty equipped with Black Package comes with a unique set of features found nowhere else in the segment. The added features include an all-black exterior paint, 20-inch aluminum wheels painted in black, black grille surrounds with horizontal inserts in black, fog lamps, body-colored front and rear bumpers and head badges on the tailgate and grille. Ram has also removed the all body-side badging for the special package but one will get the same provided the pickup is ordered with a Cummins engine.
Apart from enhanced looks the package also includes some seriously useful features. These include as many as 15 amber LEDs for turn/park/position lamp, 3 amber LEDs for side marker, all LED tail lamps with black finishes, bi-functional halogen projector headlamps featuring black bezels, Parksense and Parkview.
The 2014 Ram Heavy Duty Black package will be available on the following models: Ram 2500, 3500 SRW, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Crew Cab and Mega Cab. Pricing for the package starts from $42,140 excluding $1,195 destination charge.
Also , at this week’s Atlanta International Auto Show, Ram will debut the Ram Black Appearance Group showcasing the range of powertrains, style, capabilities and an appreciably long list of features that includes RamBox, Cargo-view Camera and more. The Heavy Duty pickup range will also be showcased with Ram’s link coil rear suspension and the optional air suspension.
