Last year at the Geneva Motor Show, Opel showcased the Opel Adam Rocks concept. Seeing the overwhelming response from hatchback fans, Opel has decided to put Adam Rocks to the production line. This all new mini car from Opel will debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Adam models are not new to us as Opel has a long list of them but the Adam Rocks is unique in its own way. Compared to the standard Opel Adam, the Opel Adam Rocks is 0.78 inches wider and 0.6 inches taller. The car also comes with a number of features carried over from the Adam Rocks concept. These include blade-shaped standard 17-inch or optional 18-inch alloy wheels, flared bumpers, and more.
Customers will get to choose from eighteen different body colors and 6 roof colors along with plenty of other customizable features. With so many options, Open will ensure every Adam Rocks looks as unique as possible. Optional features will include Apple iOS Siri voice control and IntelliLink system with Bluetooth connectivity.
Powering the Adam Rocks is General Motor’s new 1.0-liter Ecotec 3-cylinder engine available with two engine outputs: 90hp and 115 hp. The more powerful of the two versions, the one with 115 hp, will put out 122 lb-ft and return an impressive 55 miles to the gallon. Alongside, Opel will also offer the 1.2 liter 70 hp and 1.4 liter 100 hp engines. The Opel Adam Rocks will equip an improved 6 speed manual gearbox.
Other notable changes brought specifically on the Adam Rocks is a stiffer suspension, a canvas roof top which can be electronically operated and opens/closes in just 5 seconds, and more.
Shortly after the car’s official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show, it will hit the showrooms. The Opel Adam Rocks will be manufactured at Opel’s Eisenbach facility in Germany.
