Nismo, the performance division of Nissan Motors, has revealed the first pictures of Nissan Sentra Nismo Concept. As the name suggests, it is a performance concept based on the latest generation Nissan Sentra. Being a Nismo, the concept Sentra features plenty of performance and design tuner components, making the already good Sentra even better.
“Fans have asked that we bring back a high-performance Sentra straight from the factory, just like in generations past,” said Nissan Vice President of Product Planning, Pierre Loing. “With NISMO, our in-house motorsports arm, already producing versions of the 370Z NISMO, JUKE NISMO, JUKE NISMO RS and upcoming GT-R NISMO, we wanted to demonstrate where we could go in the future.”
Some of the characteristic features of Sentra Nismo Concept’s exterior include an upgraded aerodynamics, a deep front face with lower LED lights, a wide lower grille, signature upper grille and standard LED daytime running rights from the stock Sentra. Improved aerodynamics have been taken care of by a wide lower front spoiler, oversized fender flares, integrated side sills, large dual exhaust tips, custom rear spoiler, a lower spoiler and more.
To make the car look attractive Nissan has given the Sentra Nismo Concept a custom Bright Pearl White exterior paint with a unique reflective roof panel. To make it contrasting the side door mirror covers, front splitter and rear diffuser are in high-gloss, genuine carbon fiber diagonal pattern. There is also a Black Chrome-finished mesh grille with Dark Chrome surrounds.
Compared to the standard Sentra which is powered by a 1.8-liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine producing 130 hp, the Sentra Nismo Concept borrows technology from the latest gen Juke Nismo. It is powered by an enlarged 1.8 liter DOHC 16-valve, 4 cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled, sequential Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG) engine putting out more than 240 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. Complementing the powerful engine is a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential.
Putting all the power and torque to the road is a set of 19-inch RAYS aluminum-alloy wheels wrapped in 225/35R19 Michelin Super Sport performance tires. Braking performance comes from a set of red-painted 370Z brake calipers.
The interior of the Sentra is completely race inspired. The Nismo treatment adds Recaro Sportster front seats with custom black leather and Alcantara, black Alcantara treated rear seats, a NISMO-style leather/Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, satin carbon fiber finished instrument cluster, Dark chrome finish accents and much more.
