New Praga R1 -racer for sale in 2013

The new Praga R1 is a racing product of Slovakian Automakers, is by birth a R1 Racer and powered with 2.0 Litre engine[F4R 832] from Renault Sport Formula 2010. The 16 valves 4-cylinder Engine with 6-speed sequential semi-automatic transaxle gearbox, is capable of generating a good horsepower of 207[i.e. 155 kW/210 PS] at 7,500 rpm and produces a torque of 220Nm at 4,500 rpm, confident to have a power to weight ratio of only 3.8 kg/kW [i.e. 356 hp per tone].  The Praga R1 is a 2-seater with a length of  4170 mm, a width of 1800 mm and height of just 995 mm, is kept very low in weight by using carbon-fibre monocoque and constructing it around with light weight and compact mid engine layout. It just 592 kilograms[i.e. 1300 lbs] in weight.

The doors are made-up of Carbon fibre and has customized lightweight polycarbonate windows with anti-scratch protection. The Praga R1 has their made carbon Kevlar racing seat with side head rest and an optional radio communication system from PELTOR/YAESU. In the safety features, Praga R1 is equipped with carbon fiber crumple zones at front and rear side crash energy absorption. It also includes 6 point seatbelts and integrated fire extinguisher system with polycarbonate windows and safety fuel tank, which Praga claims that is one of the safest cars on the circuit. It claims the braking safety comes from the feature of the double wishbone fully adjustable aluminum suspension with AP Racing discs featuring four-piston calipers.

2013 Praga R1 Racer 01

The Praga R1 is a race like its big brother – the R4 and R4S GT which are built in company Orechová Potôň which is near to the Autodrom Slovakia race circuit. Its production has initiated in November after testing the prototype model in October and will be on sale from 2013. The company has other things in their minds before generating the R1 DNA, therefore Praga has featured it with the option of FIA approved 6 point seat-belts and headlights, to unleash the R1 Racer on the any public road. The first R1 will compete in the Praga Cup series on European circuits. Praga R1 will be manufactured manually in Czech Republic and will come with a starting price tag of 98,000 EUR[i.e. 129575.60 dollars].

Two seater Praga R1 is 4170 mm long, 1800 mm wide, only 995 mm tall with only 590 kilograms dry weight (1300 lbs). Yet pilots of Praga R1 get unprecedented level of passive safety and comfort. Carbon fiber monocoque reinforced by internal ribs and bulkheads, carbon fiber crumple zones for frond and side crash energy absorbtion, 6-point seatbelts, integrated fire extinguisher system, polycarbonate windows and safety fuel tank make it one of the safest racing cars.

Base model uses naturally aspirated 2-liter 4-cylinder engine F4R 832 from Renault Sports Technologies with maximum 155 kW (210 PS) at 7500 rpm. This gives promising power to weight ratio of only 3,8 kg/kW (356 hp per tone). Optimal balance between beautiful shape and aerodynamics efficiency gives Praga R1 significant downforce which in return means higher cornering speeds and stability.
