McLaren’s bespoke division, the McLaren Special Operations, has released the first image of the MSO 650S Coupe Concept. This latest model that joins the McLaren’s lineup showcases a variety of upgrades available for the McLaren 650S Spider and 650S Coupe. Over the coming weeks, McLaren will be showing the MSO 650S Coupe concept at various places across China.
Talking about the appearance first, the MSO-built concept features a number of subtle bodily and interior upgrades. For instance, the exterior of the car is painted in Agrigan Black, a unique metallic black shade developed with a ruby red metallic flake. In the night the car appears black whereas under direct sunlight it changes its color dramatically. Complementing the exclusive paint is an array of carbon fiber highlights finished in satin. The list of carbon fiber highlights include the air intakes, front splitter, a unique MSO ear diffuser and MSO side blades.
Compared to the door blades seen on the standard 650S Spider and Coupe models, the MSO carbon fiber side blades are full length and look much more aggressive. These satin finished blades offer improved airflow along and edges and hence increase the aerodynamic efficiency. Moving to the rear of the sports concept, there is a GT3-inspired rear bumper featuring a carbon fibre centre section, unique MSO rear diffuser and the carbon fibre airbrake.
The mighty engine has been gifted with satin black engine covers. The concept rolls on special lightweight ‘650S’ alloy wheels finished in satin black and are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
The interior gets fixed-back carbon fibre racing seats wrapped in carbon black leather. The bezels and switchgear are finished in gloss black.
