While we were expecting McLaren to announce the pricing and performance figures of the McLaren 650S at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the manufacturer has revealed the figures well ahead of the official debut. So without wasting any time, let us get started.
The latest super car offering from McLaren can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and can reach 124 mph in an astonishing 8.4 seconds. With that much sprint power the car can cover 400 meters in just 10.5 seconds, while attaining a top speed of 207 mph or 333 km/h. Compared to the iconic McLaren F1, the 650S is a full second quicker in the 0 to 200 km/h sprint, and 0.6 seconds over the quarter mile stretch. In comparison to the McLaren 12C, the car is more than half a second faster on the 0 to 200 km/h sprint.
Despite the race car like performance figures, the 650S is a machine which is equally luxurious. There are plenty of features that customers will be overwhelmed with. The list includes DAB digital radio for Europe and SIRIUS for North America, Bluetooth connectivity, IRIS satellite navigation, voice control, wireless tethering, Alcantara cabin and audio streaming come as standard. The list of optional features gets carbon racing seats with fixed back, rear parking camera, electric steering column, and extra carbon fibre.
The McLaren 650S returns 24.2 mpg which converts to 275 g/km of CO2, making it the most efficient car in its class. The car rolls on unique 650 light alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.
Pricing for the coupe model starts from £195,250, while the Spider model starts from £215,250.
