Petrol and diesel costs in Mumbai are Rs. 83.57 per litre (lower by 15 paise) and Rs. 76.22 (lower by 16 paise), respectively.
In the meantime, a litre of petrol is being retailed at Rs. 79.98 (lower by 35 paise) in Kolkata, whereas diesel is being bought at Rs. 74.60 per litre (lower by 15 paise).
In Chennai, petrol and diesel presently value Rs. 81.08 per (lower by 16 paise) and Rs. 76.89 (enhance by 16 paise).

On this regard, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had on October four introduced a discount of Rs. 2.50 per litre on each petrol and diesel costs after curbing excise obligation on the commodity by Rs. 1.50 per litre and urged respective state governments to slash the identical quantity at their finish.
