BMW X4, M4 Convertible, X5 eDrive, 4-Series Gran Coupe At 2014 NYIAS

The 2014 New York International Auto Show is going to be even bigger, thanks to the exciting range of products BMW is going to showcase at the event. The lineup will include a number of important products, including the newly introduced BMW M4 Convertible and BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe. Completing the NYIAS lineup will be the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe, updated BMW X3 Sports Activity Vehicle and an X5-based concept called BMW Concept X5 eDrive .

Of the long list of cars to be present at the show, 2015 M4 Convertible and X4 SAC will grab the majority of the attention. The all new X4 Sports Activity Coupe is said to represent a new dimension in the compact SUV segment. Being a sibling of the bigger X6, the X4 combines the capability and performance of an SUV with the styling of a traditional coupe. From the launch of the car, it will be offered in two variants: xDrive28i and xDrive35i, priced from $45,625 and $48,925 respectively. The X4 xDrive28i is powered by BMW’s 240 hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder heart while the X4 xDrive35i equips the 300 hp 3.0 liter inline six engine. Both the models equip an 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission that features paddle shifters, along with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system.

The 2015 M4 Convertible has been just introduced and expands the 4-Series lineup. It is powered by an all new 3.0 liter, in-line 6-cylinder engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology which develops peak power of 425 hp and peak torque of 406 lb-ft. Customers will get to choose either a 6 speed manual or a 7-speed M Double Clutch transmission.

Next on the list is BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, another exciting addition to the 4-Series family of cars. Available in two models: 428i Gran Coupe and 435i Gran Coupe, the 4-Series Gran Coupe ups the bar for 4-door performance coupes. The 428i Gran Coupe is powered by the 2.0 liter 240 hp heart while the 435i Gran Coupe gets a 3.0 liter 300 hp inline-6 engine. Pricing for the two models starts from $43,225 and $46,725 respectively.

The stage will also be shared by the 2015 BMW ALPINA B6 xDrive Gran Coupe which is powered by the 4.4-liter ALPINA Bi-Turbo V8 putting out 540 hp and 540 lb-ft. Equipped with an 8 speed Sport Automatic Transmission, the car can do the 0-60 mph sprint in only 3.7 seconds and offers a top speed of 198 mph. The ALPINA B6 Gran Coupe will sell for a whopping $118,225.

BMW will also showcase the updated, 2015 X3 which features a number of styling revisions and a handful of additional features. The new model will be available with with two gasoline and one diesel engine, offering 180 hp to 300 hp.

Last but not the least, there will be a new BMW Concept X5 eDrive model which features a hybrid drivetrain comprising of a 95 hp electric motor and a 245 hp 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The car offers an all-electric drive range of 20 miles and an average fuel consumption figure of 62 miles to a gallon. It completes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in just 7.0 seconds.
