BMW has confirmed that new Concept X4 will make debut at the Auto Shanghai which starts from April 21st – 29th 2013. Joining the BMW’s line up of X series following X1, X3, X5 and X6, BMW Concept X4 is being touted as the future of the BMW’s X generation. The X4 wonderfully blends the luxury and ruggedness of its X series of SUVs and crossovers with the swoopy looks of a coupe. The car will have just four seats and is slightly shorter in length and height than the X6 adorned with large 21-inch light-alloy wheels to give it sportier appearance. It features diesel engines in 2.0-Litre and a top spec 3.0-Litre.
Featuring 21-inch alloy wheels flanked by a pair of dynamically contoured full round LED headlights, a kidney grille and a high-gloss frame, this snazzy-looking luxury vehicle sophistically blends the front end styling elements of the BMW generation with high performance dynamics. The kidney grille is accompanied with additional air apertures to ensure an adequate supply of air to keep the engine cool and calm. The whole kidney structure is adorned with extra visual depth attained from smooth matt finishing of high gloss black bars. The inside light in the round headlights gives consistent focus on the road ahead. Besides it, horizontal augmentation of the inner light elements creates an impressive visual bond with the grille.
The side view of BMW X4 flaunts its long wheelbase, bonnet, short overhangs and wedged-shaped flanks. The car’s “visual centre of gravity has been given sportier look with a much lower roofline and swage lines above concave area to draw impressive attention to the wheels. The BMW X4 will have lineup of 4- and 6-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines which is mated with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and a standard electro-hydraulic multi-plate clutch.
Focusing on to the rear of the Concept X4, horizontal elements are amplified by slim LED lights and the combinations of light/dark colors have been emphasised in the rear end. The lights pushing outwards towards the maximum edges of the back of the car adds more glory to its sporty appearance. All these elements make the car seem shorter and sporty. Another eye catching feature is its rear apron with two tailpipes and a stooping design dwindling towards the tires.
BMW has released the images of its new BMW X4 and has confirmed its production to be begun in early 2014, which will be manufactured at the BMW Plant Spartanburg in the United States. Prices are expected to be couple of thousand pounds higher than the X3 with the expected range to start from around £30,000.
