Last month Audi launched the A6 equipped with Audi ultra efficiency technology. The new technology seen on the A6 first ensures performance while cutting down emissions and fuel consumption by an appreciable amount. Yesterday, expanding the ultra models lineup in the UK, Audi has launched the A4 Saloon, A4 Avant and A5 Coupe.
The Ultra model range is powered by a 2.0 liter TDI engine, which was earlier available on the A5 only but Audi engineers have reworked the same so that it burns fuel in a leaner manner. The engine is capable on putting out 163 PS of power available between 1200 rpm and 3000 rpm and a peak torque of nearly 400 Nm available from 1750 rpm up to 2750 rpm. On the A5, the engine is mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox which helps the car accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 8.3 seconds and achieve a top speed of 140 mph.
The A4 models are also powered by the same 2.0 liter TDI engine and shares the same performance figures. As per Audi’s claims, the A4 2.0 TDI ultra returns 56.5 miles to a gallon and emits 109 g/km of CO2. The A4 Avant variant returns 55.4 mpg and emits 114 g/km of CO2. The same can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 8.6 seconds and achieve a top speed 134 mph.
Distinguishing features on these ultra models include ‘Ultra’ badging at the rear while the rest of the elements are identical to the ones found on the SE trim. The list of features includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Audi Concert CD audio system, rear parking sensors, light and rain sensors, electronic climate control, Milano leather upholstery, and more. A4 buyers can also opt for SE Technik trim which comes with additional features such as Audi Parking System Plus, Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod connection, MMI Navigation plus and more.
