All New Ferrari California T: Details Inside

Ferrari has unveiled the latest iteration of its most versatile sports car yet. Yes we are talking about the all new Ferrari California T which is the successor of the Ferrari California, and features a new turbocharged V8 engine and upgraded styling.

Ferrari engineers have yet again did a fantastic job by developing this new V8 powermill which is not only responsive, powerful and potent, but also benefits from turbo technology which reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Ferrari has used its F-1 resources to build this new 3855 cc engine which is capable of producing 560 CV of max power, translating to 145 CV per liter, and peak torque of 755 Nm which is achieved in 7th gear.

The California T accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds. Being a turbo unit, it is nearly 15 percent more fuel efficient and emits 20 percent less CO2 (250 g/km) than its predecessor. The newly developed engine is mated to a F1 dual-clutch transmission which now features longer gear ratios and also helps in reducing fuel consumption.

As far as the design is concerned, what is so interesting to see is that the new California T looks refreshingly new and yet influenced by the previous generation California. Ferrari Styling Center and Pininfarina worked together to come up with the ever so dynamic looking California T which is a subtle deviation of its predecessor.

The improvements brought are not just limited to the design and engine. Ferrari has also managed to enhance the dynamics of the car and developments are as follows – the steering has been made quicker, body roll has been reduced, handling and on the limit control has been improved, and the chassis has been revised thoroughly.

The braking system on the California T is a Brembo carbon-ceramic set which features a new pad material for higher friction and less wear. Working in conjunction with ABS ESP 8.0 Premium, the discs can bring the California T to a halt from 100 km/h in under 34 meters. Ferrari has also added the F1-Trac traction control that makes the car 8.5 percent around corners.

As standard, the California T comes with a set of 19 inch starburst design alloy wheels and 20 inch forged wheels are available as an optional feature.
