At the 84th International Motor Show which start early March in Geneva is going to be the platform for a good number of unveilings. The list is long and the latest cars to get added to is the ‘Quadriofoglio Verde’ models of the Mito and Giulietta.
Alfa Romeo is going to unveil high performance models of the Alfa Romeo Mito and Giulietta in Geneva. The new models will be called Mito and Giulietta ‘Quadriofoglio Verde’ and will feature the very best of the Italian manufacturer’s DNA. The latest example of how much Alfa Romeo has evolved over the years, is the Alfa Romeo 4C, and the two new performance models are indeed on the same lines.
The biggest commonality between the 4C and Giulietta QV is the engine. Under the bonnet of the Mito and Giulietta ‘Quadriofoglio Verde’ sits the same 1750 turbo petrol engine featuring a turbo scavenging control system, dual variable valve timing and direct injection. This lightweight all aluminium block has a max power output of 240 hp @ 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 340 Nm delivered between 2100 and 4000 rpm. As far as the sprint time is concerned, the car does from 0 to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 149 mph (electronically limited).
The engine comes mated to a state-of-the-art ALFA TCT 6-speed transmission which can either be used in fully automatic mode or manual mode via the steering mounted paddle shifters.
Externally, the QV models are distinguished by plenty of visual elements such as a glossy anthracite finish for the exhaust tail pipes, front grille, door mirrors, fog lights, and door handles, anthracite finished alloy wheels and side skirting. The braking system makes use of 320 mm discs at the front which are painted in red. Customers will also get Quadriofoglio Verde emblem on the wings at front.
The Mito QV is powered by a new 1.4-litre MultiAir Turbo petrol engine which can produce 170 hp of power at 5500 rpm and peak torque of 250 Nm at 2500 rpm. The car features the same TCT transmission as on the Giulietta QV and plenty of unique exterior and interior elements. Mito QV does 0 to 62 mph in a nice 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 136 mph.
