Nissan has revealed the first pictures and details of the updated, 2015 Nissan Versa sedan. There are a good number of changes that Nissan has brought, including an updated exterior, revised interior with Bluetooth Hands-free and a few more standard features on the complete model range. The 2015 Versa will debut at the 2014 New York International Auto Show and will go on sale the same day. As far as the pricing is concerned, it will start from $11,990 MSRP.
For four years in a row, the Versa has been the best selling vehicle in the sub-compact sedan segment and with the updated model, Nissan expects to record even higher numbers. The most prominent changes have been made to the exterior which now features larger headlights, chrome plated grille and a more substantial fascia. The exterior also gets new side mirror designs, new fog light finisher, updated rear fascia design and an SV-exclusive 15-inch V-spoke aluminum wheel set.
The interior is claimed to much more refined and contemporary than the outgoing model. Enhancements on the interior include new center stack shape, revised meter display with white LED display, new steering wheel and Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System.
Coming to the list of standard equipment now, the S and S Plus models will arrive with passenger-side vanity mirror, a wide AM/FM/CD audio system with Radio Data System and AUX, new seat fabric and standard assist grips. The SL trim, in addition to the aforementioned features, gets NissanConnect with Navigation and Mobile Apps System which includes Nissan Voice Recognition, SiriusXM Travel Link, SiriusXM Traffic and a 5.8 inch touchscreen.
Powering the Versa is a 1.6-liter HR16DE 4-cylinder engine that produces 109 hp at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 107 lb-ft at 4,000 rpm. It can be couple to either of the three transmission options: a 4-speed automatic, a 5-speed manual or an Xtronic transmission with D-mode step shift programming.
