Adding a new member to the already big family of AMG products, Mercedes-Benz has launched the 2015 S63 4MATIC Coupe today. The S63 4MATIC Coupe is AMG version of the newly introduced Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe. Thanks to AMG, the new model not only looks more exciting than the coupe it is based on but also talks performance, real performance.
Starting with the styling of the car, AMG has done a commendable job in enhancing the appeal of the coupe. AMG has added plenty of aerodynamic and styling elements such as a 3D AMG “twin-blade” radiator grille, AMG lettering, a 3D body colored A-wing which acts as a ducting element, a front splitter, AMG side sill panels, exclusive AMG alloy wheels, V8 BITURBO lettering, gloss black rear diffuser, AMG sport exhaust system, and more.
The interior of the S63 4MATIC Coupe is just as special and sporty as the exterior is. Some of the highlights of the car’s cabin include new AMG sport seats featuring heating, ventilation and power adjustment with memory function, a new 3-spoke AMG sport steering wheel with perforated leather treatment, metal AMG logo, AMG Nappa leather piping and AMG badges on all seats, new aluminum shift paddles, a high res TFT AMG instrument cluster, AMG start up display and others.
Powering the car is a 5461 cc engine that puts out 577 hp at 5500 rpm and peak torque of 664 lb-ft available from 2250 rpm up to 3750 rpm. The powerful 8-cylinder biturbo AMG engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed auto transmission which helps the car sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 186 mph. The transmission can be used in three different modes: C-Controlled Efficiency, S-Sport and M-Manual.
Mercedes is going to offer the S63 AMG Coupe with the performance-friendly AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard in the US market. The system ensures that 33 percent of the total power goes to the front while 67 percent to the rear in permanent all-wheel drive mode.
Other technological highlights include optional AMG forged wheels, AIRMATIC air suspension, AMG sport exhaust system, optional AMG developed high-performance ceramic brakes and more.
