Lexus has launched the much awaited 2015 RC F performance car at the 2014 North American International Auto Show a.k.a Detroit Motor Show. Unveiled at the motor show, the the 2015 RC F celebrates brand’s 25th anniversary. To celebrate this special year, Lexus has fitted the RC F with the company’s most powerful V8 engine yet. Visually, the RC F is a treat, featuring a radical design that is on the lines of the RC coupe but is more aggressive. It features a unique version of the signature spindle grille with an ‘F’ motif embedded in the mesh, a higher set bonnet, 10 spoke 19-inch forged aluminium wheels, functional air cooling and aerodynamic elements, quad trapezoidal exhaust outlets. Yukihiko Yaguchi, RC F Chief Engineer, said: “I’ve built the RC F to be enjoyed by all enthusiasts, no matter what their level of expertise. There’s a false perception that racing cars are hard o drive. In fact, they’re easy in the right hands because they’ve been purpose-built for the skill level of their drivers. It’s the same with the RC F. Electronics can be modified instantly on board to provide appropriate levels of performance and protection. But even at its basic setting, it’s a blast!” Apart from the sensuous design the most interesting component of the car is its engine. It is a 5.0-litre 32-valve engine that is capable of putting out 450bhp and 520Nm of torque, making it the most powerful V8 from Lexus yet. This front engine, rear wheel driven car comes with a newly calibrated eight-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission and a Torque Vectoring Differential. 2015 Lexus RC F Performance Sedan (1) The car takes a lot of inspiration from the LFA and the IS F CCS-R race car, and hence gets plenty of carbon fiber goes into the roof, bonnet and the active rear wing. The Active Rear Wing comes from the LFA and produces more downforce by deploying at speeds above 50 mph. The most important of these is the Lexus’s first thick-grip steering wheel that has an elliptical cross section for greater control.
