Today, Ford has revealed the all new 2015 Ford Expedition which comes with a long list of features, a new EcoBoost engine and a new platinum series. Perhaps the most important change brought by Ford is the addition of a new Ecoboost engine to the options list.
Earlier, the only engine that customers looked forward to was the 5.4 liter V8 unit but now there is a smaller 3.5 liter EcoBoost engine which not only drives better but delivers better fuel economy, power and torque figures. This new EcoBoost heart is the only engine to be offered in the new Expedition in North America.
Mated to this fuel efficient is a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that also features a manual mode. When driving in the manual mode, drivers can select the desired gear using a shift-mounted rocker switch. Complementing the interesting setup will be the new continuously controlled damping that can be used in three different drive modes: comfort, normal and sport.
Customers will also be happy to know that Ford has added even more features to the Expedition. The list now includes SYNC with MyFord Touch which make use of an 8-inch touch screen, a driver information cluster featuring two 4.2-inch LCD screens, 10-speaker 700-watt Sony audio system, Intelligent Access with push-button start, radar-based Blind Spot Information System featuring cross-traffic alert, ambient LED lighting for the interior, Ford truck apps, rearview camera and more.
Also for 2014 will be a new Platinum trim package available on the new Expedition. The Platinum package has been in existence on the Ford F-Series for long but this is first time when it hits the Expedition lineup. The package adds plenty of unique features such as new Brunello leather with tuxedo-stripe accents and French-seamed stitching. The package also offers black leather with Agate Gray accents should the customer want more variety.
Styling wise, Ford has updated the exterior as well as the interior of the car. The external changes include factory-installed 22-inch wheels, all-new front end, optional LED fog lamps, redesigned rear hatch, chrome-tipped exhaust pipes and more.
