After a long wait, Audi has finally announced the 2015 Audi A3 sedan for the US market. The premium sedan is claimed to set new standards in the entry level category with a host of convenience features including a segment-first on-board 4G LTE data connection.
Starting with the A3 sedan as of now, Audi has confirmed that the remaining lineup, which includes A3 TDI clean diesel, A3 Cabriolet, A3 e-tron PHEV and S3, will be rolled out in the next 16 months.
For the North American market, Audi will offer the A3 sedan with two powertrain options: 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI. The 1.8 liter engine produces a decent 170 hp while the 2.0 liter petrol heart develops a more punchy 220 hp.
As far as the standard features are concerned, the A3 sedan will come with signature Singleframe grille, leather seating surfaces, super-thin retractable MMI display and more. Other available options include Audi drive select, Bang & Olufsen audio and 4G LTE connectivity. Audi will also offer bi-Xenon headlights and a panorama glass sunroof.
The A3 sedan will also be offered with two luxury packages: Premium plus and Prestige, each featuring a unique set of features. Talking in brief about these packages, Premium plus adds an aluminum interior package, exclusive 10-spoke 18 inch alloy wheels and keyless entry for an additional amount of $2550. The higher end, Prestige package includes all the features of the Premium one plus Audi connect, full LED headlights, Audi MMI navigation plus, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, Driver Assistance package and Convenience package for an additional $8450.
Proportion wise the A3 sedan is 175.5 inches in length, 70 inches in width, 55.7 inches in height and features a 103.4 inch long wheelbase. The pricing of the 2015 Audi A3 sedan is as follows:
