In the late sixties, Thruxton became one of the popular places for racing enthusiasts as F2 race meetings were held on Easter bank holiday. After more than five decades, the Easter meeting returned to Thruxton in 2013 and response was overwhelming. Called Thruxton Easter Revival, the race meeting will be conducted this year as well and is expected to be even bigger.
Fans who are planning to buy the tickets for the event would be pleased to know that early ticket purchases could get the buyers a ride in of the six amazing supercars at the race track. People who buy the Easter Revival tickets between now and April 11 will enter a draw, the winners of which will get a 2-lap ride as a passenger around the fastest circuit in Britain – the Hampshire circuit, in one of the six modern-day supercars.
There will be 12 lucky winners for the dream-ride experience, each of which will enjoy a ride in one of the sextet of supercars which is as follows:
Ferrari 458 Spider
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 Spyder
Lamborghini Aventador Roadster (700 hp)
Run by Historic Sports Car Club, the even is a retro-style one but this year there will be a pinch of modern racing excitement, thanks to these ultra spectacular selection of supercars. Raising the levels of thrill, the audience will see Formula 5000 5-liter machines from the 1960s and 70s burning rubber on the track. This is the first time in a decade when these machines will come to Thruxton. Adding to the excitement, the hotly-anticipated new HSCC Super Touring Car Championship will also be announced at the same race weekend.
Scheduled for April 19 and 20, buyers who are interested in the event can either book the tickets from the official website or on the phone line by calling the ticket office.
