2014 Power On Ice Driving Experience By Bentley – Details

A year ago Bentley managed to smash the world speed record on ice with a Continental SuperSport Convertible and since then they have developed a strong inclination towards this very type of turf. This is one of the reasons why Bentley came up with its Power On Ice driving experience program and for the year 2014 the brand is back with the same.

With just 3 months in hand before the program kicks off, Bentley has released all the details and interestingly there will a lot of new things to look forward to. The 2014 event is an extended version of the previous program meaning the guests will get more time to polish their skills on ice. To be held from 6 February to 6 March 2014, the program venue has been chosen as far north of Finland which Bentley is quite familiar with.

2014 Power On Ice program features a series of challenging and exhilarating snow and ice circuits especially designed by four-time World Rally Champion and honorary ‘Bentley Boy’, Juha Kankkunen. Kankkunen has won 23 world rally championships and is also responsible for breaking the world ice speed driving record in Continental cars.

Another highlight of the event is the addition of Bentley’s Flying Spur sedan. The Flying Spur is powered by Bentley’s 6.0 litre W12 twin turbocharged engine delivering 616 bhp of power. The Spur offers a top speed of 322 km/h making it the world’s fastest luxury four door production car. It equips a state-of-the-art all-wheel drive system which constantly alters the levels of power between the front and rear wheels and ensures there is enough grip to perform, regardless of the weather and road conditions.

“The Flying Spur is going to be an excellent addition to the Power on Ice experience and we’re looking forward to showing what it is capable of. There’s going to be something special about driving a luxury car you’d expect to see in Monte Carlo or London across the snow and frozen lakes,” comments Kankkunen.

Along with the Flying Spur will be an array of Bentley Continental GT coupes which are powered by the company’s 6.0 litre W12 and 4.0 litre V8 engines. To help guests broaden their driving skills on challenging road and in bad weather conditions, Kankkunen will work with Bentley’s own factory-trained driving experts.

The chosen venue is situated in the surroundings of the Ruka Peak resort, so if the guests are not driving they will be relaxing in one of the most exclusive and luxurious resorts in Finland.
