The 2014 iteration of Nissan’s popular sports crossover is here. Yes, it is none other than the radical looking Nissan Juke which receives significant upgrades for this year, including four models, two new exterior colors, two new special cosmetic packages, a navigation package and more.
For 2014, the Juke pushes the bar set by itself even higher, thanks to the updated styling which includes 17 inch wheels, a broad shoulder line, flared wheel arches, the unique two-part headlight, a raked windshield, a high beltline, coupe inspired roofline, hidden rear door handles, boomerang style taillights, upswept side windows and more.
The excitement is further continued in the cabin which features a unique, motorcycle fuel tank-inspired center console finished in a glossy paint, sports car-inspired gearshift positioning and a bolstered front seats.
Perhaps, the most interesting feature of the Juke’s cabin is the Integrated Control (I-CON) system which is a drive mode selector that offers three different response settings for the steering, transmission and throttle. The system has three modes: Normal – for everyday driving, ‘Sport’ – for spirited driving and ‘Eco’ for fuel efficient driving.
Talking about the features now, there is a long list that includes 4-way adjustable rear and 6-way manual driver’s seat, beverage holders at front and rear, automatic door locks, Bluetooth Hands-free System, iPod Interface System, steering wheel mounted controls, a powerful ecoPUNCH audio system by Rockford Fosgate, premium fabrics, leather wrapped seats, RearView Monitor, heated front seats, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition and more.
The 2014 Juke is powered by a 1.6-liter, inline 4-cylinder, Direct Injection Gasoline (DIGO) turbo engine which produces 188 hp and peak torque of 177 lb-ft. The same is available with two transmission options: a 6-speed manual transmission or a Nissan’s advanced Xtronic CVT. Fuel consumption figures for the manual and automatic variants stand at 27 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 25 mpg city/31 mpg highway respectively.
The model lineup includes S, SV. SL and NISMO, each of which is available in either front wheel drive or all wheel drive configuration.
