Dodge, one of the most versatile manufacturers in the automotive industry, has introduced the upgraded 2014 Dodge Journey which now comes with a Pentastar engine and optional all wheel drive. From 2014 onwards, Dodge is going to offer the Journey SE with the optional Pentastar 3.6 liter V6 engine which is capable of producing best-in-segment 283 hp and peak torque of 260 lb.-ft. The same engine is also available on the SXT and Crossroad trims, while it comes as standard on the R/T and Limited models.
The powerful V6 will be mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox and returns up to 24 mpg on standard models.
Also new for 2014 Model Year Journey SE, is the all wheel drive system which will offer extra grip in difficult road conditions, especially for customers who live in rainy areas of in Snow Belt parts of the country. The all wheel drive equipped models of the Journey will offer up to 25 mpg.
The Journey features an on the fly all wheel drive system which only powers the front wheels under normal conditions but on dry pavement between 25 mph and 65 mph, the all wheel drive system is immediately activated. The Journey also features an electronically controlled coupling (ECC) which works in conjunction with the all wheel drive and makes it more neutral on corners.
Talking about the generous amount of features Dodge has added, the 2014 Journey comes with standard 7 airbags, 17 inch alloy wheels, all wheel disc brakes, ABS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), power windows, power heated mirrors, 4.3-inch touchscreen Uconnect Media Center, tilt-and-telescoping steering column, keyless entry, push-button start,deep-tint sunscreen glass, cruise control, LED tail lamps and black side roof rails.
The 2014 Dodge Journey SE all wheel drive will start from $24,895, which excludes $995 destination charge.
