Dodge’ Journey SUV reported strongest sales ever in 2013 and to celebrate the same, Dodge is introducing a new Journey model called the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad. Dodge has released the official pictures recently and will debut the vehicle at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show.
So what is new about Journey Crossroad? Some of the new and exclusive features the car comes with includes redesigned front and rear faces, unique 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, new leather seat design and Liquid Graphite accents.
Since it is a special edition model, Dodge has given the exterior of the Journey a comprehensive makeover to make it look distinct. The Journey Crossroad comes with a new face featuring gloss black grille and fog lamp surrounds, a Platinum chrome accent, Platinum chrome roof rails, a “Crossroad” badge at the rear, black headlamp bezels, new side sills, new 19 inch 5-spoke aluminium wheels and more.
The 2014 Journey Crossroad also comes with a variety of exterior color options: Pearl White Tri-Coat, Bright Silver Metallic, White, Copperhead Pearl, Fathom Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Pitch Black, and Redline Red 2-coat Pearl.
The special touches extend to the interior as well. There is a set of standard black leather seats with contrasting Light Slate Grey stitching. The same stitching has been used for center armrest and door panels. Then there is a leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, Liquid Graphite finish across the dashboard, center console, and steering wheel trim. It also comes with first in class 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, power front seat and more.
Powering the Journey Crossroad is a standard 2.4 liter 16-valve DOHC 4-cylinder engine which develops 173 hp and 166 lb-ft of peak torque. The same comes mated with a 4-speed auto gearbox and returns 26 mpg on highway.
There is also an optional 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 283 hp of power and 260 lb-ft of peak torque. The Pentastar engine is mated to a smooth-shifting 6 speed automatic gearbox and delivers close to 25 mpg on highway.
The Crossroad model features more than 50 safety and security features including Brake Assist, driver-side knee blocker air bag, LATCH child seat anchor system, front passenger air bags, active head restraints, electronic roll mitigation, electronic stability control, all speed traction control, side-curtain air bags and more.
Come spring, the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad will be available across all Dodge dealerships with a starting price of $24,995 (excluding $995 destination charges).
