One make race series have become significantly popular in the past few years and one of them is the the Aston Martin GT4 Challenge series. The racing series has grown appreciably in the recent times as a result of which more drivers are showing interest in participating in the arrive-and-drive program. The 2014 Aston Martin GT4 Challenge is going to be even more exciting with the addition of three new drivers including IndyCar and F1 veteran Eliseo Salazar.
Starting with the most well known entrant, Eliseo Salazar is a familiar face to North American race fans. For nearly two decades, Salazar has driven everything from off-road trucks, to Indycars, to sports car prototypes. Being a Chile native, with the announcement of the 2014 GT4 Challenge series Salazar was contacted by AGUNSA, a Chile-based Logistics and Distribution company, and Aston Martin Santiago. Salazar and the sponsor companies have confirmed they will be racing in the three initial races, and could also extend this to even more races this season.
The next of the three drivers is Greg Milzcik who is a Massachusetts native. Since childhood Milzcik has been hugely inclined towards aviation and automobiles that eventually lead to a career in the former as an aviation executive. In his free time, Milzcik focused on his other passion for automobiles and has owned over 80 vehicles to date and still counting. Milzcik always aspired to be an Aston owner and four years ago he purchased his first Aston Martin. As immediately as he bought his first Aston, he started participating in Aston Martin owner events. Last year, he participated in TGR-AMR’s GT4 Challenge Vantage GT4 and this year he will be competing in the GT4 Challenge.
The last of the entrants is Joel Segal who recently spent the weekend evaluating the Vantage GT4 at the Thermal Club. With a successful and impressive weekend spent with TGR-AMR and the GT Challenge series car, Segal purchased his own Vantage GT4 and participated in the Vantage GT4 seven weekend racing series.
The Aston Martin GT4 Challenge of North America starts May 16 to 18 at the Watkins Glen International circuit and will culminate at the Sebring International Raceway on November 21 to 23.
