GM Extends Manufacturing At Detroit Manufacturing facility Till Early 2020

Normal Motors Co mentioned on Friday it had prolonged the manufacturing at its Detroit Hamtramck plant till January 2020, in opposition to an earlier plan to discontinue manufacturing in June this yr. The Hamtramck plant will proceed to provide the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac CT6 sedans till early subsequent yr, the corporate mentioned. “We’re balancing manufacturing timing whereas persevering with the supply of Cadillac superior know-how options at present included within the CT6-V – the Blackwing Twin-Turbo V-Eight (engine) and Tremendous Cruise (driver help system),” GM mentioned. VIDEO: Chris Harris in an E63 AMG races The Stig in a BMW M5

Almost as soon as the F90 BMW M5 debuted, it was put up against its main rival from Affalterbach, the Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Not only because they’re main competitors but also because they’re extremely similar. Both cars are big, heavy luxury sedans with twin-turbocharged V8s, 600 hp and all-wheel drive that sport two-wheel drive modes. In this new video from the new season of Top Gear, Chris Harris races The Stig to see which car is fastest to the main executive business person parking spot. In the video, Harris drives the AMG while The Stig drives the BMW M5. Stiggy cheats and takes off before Harris and easily gets the lead but Harris quickly gets back on his tail. The Cayman e-volution also hints at what is to come in 2019, when Porsche will bring its first purely electric sports car, the Mission E, into production. The Mission E will be capable of covering a range of over 500 kilometres, and will be able to charge its batteries to 80 per cent within just 15 minutes. With Porsche Turbo Charging, the sports car manufacturer is also showcasing its first ever accumulator-based fast charging system,....

The couple behind the controversial ‘sex button’ on Kickstarter speaks up after getting roasted online: ‘We’re not trying to end the world’

LoveSync is a button that lets your silently indicate to your partner you’re in the mood for sex. After launching a Kickstarter fundraising campaign, LoveSync drew serious flak for its perceived intentions to replace audible consent and communication in sex and relationships. But LoveSync’s founders, Ryan and Jenn Cmich, say critics are ignoring the bigger picture and instead portraying the issue in terms of “black or white.” In an interview with Business Insider, the Cmiches explained LoveSync’s cost, the gadget’s role in their own marriage, and the next steps in marketing their product. Earlier this month, a Kickstarter launched for LoveSync, a product made for couples you use to indicate to your partner you’re in the mood for sex — not with verbal communication, but with the push of a button. Reactions to the device, which the Kickstarter said was supposed to “take the luck out of getting lucky,” were....

F1: Leclerc thinks competition with Vettel would be good for Ferrari

New Ferrari signing Charles Leclerc says that if he is able to give Ferrari a problem in managing success for their team with Vettel, it would be a good sign. The other Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel says he is expecting pressure from the young Monegasque driver during the 2019 season. In January 2019 Hyundai Almost Doubled Plug-In EV Car Sales

Kona Electric deliveries barely exceeded 3,000 though Hyundai once again noted a fast pace of growth of plug-in car sales, which in January amounted to 88%. In total, the South Korean manufacturer delivered 5,662 plug-ins, which is about 4.0% of its total sales volume. The results are lower than in the previous record three months, but since the annual growth is high we can’t complain – especially since Hyundai was also busy by increasing its conventional car sales. Disappointingly, Hyundai is having massive supply issues with its Kona Electric right now due to high demand. In fact, the automaker has decided to not deliver Kona Electrics to a big chunk of customers who’ve ordered one in the U.S. Additionally, Hyundai sold some 85 NEXO hydrogen fuel cell cars and over 1,000 since January 2018. Here Are The Quickest Electric Cars For 2019

There’s quick and then there’s Tesla quick. One of the advantages to buying an electric vehicle instead of one that packs a conventional internal combustion engine is that most deliver surprisingly quick acceleration. That’s because an electric motor generates 100 percent of its available torque instantly and maintains it across the full power range. With a gas engine, torque is produced on a curve, with less at the beginning and end, and the most registering at about the center. What’s more, EVs use a single-gear transmission that further enlivens performance by not having to shift into higher ratios as engine speed increases. What Democrats running for president in 2020 have said about big tech

Artificial intelligence, automation, tech monopolies, and privacy are bound to be contentious issues in the 2020 presidential election. Many Democrats who have announced bids have already made their opinions on big tech known.  Senator Bernie Sanders played a significant role in getting Amazon to pay its workers $15 an hour, while Cory Booker once took a $100 million donation while he was mayor of Newark from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Here is what Democrats running for president in 2020 have said about big tech.   President Donald Trump has not been shy about sharing his views on tech companies, with frequent tweets alleging political bias at Google and tabloid-worthy attacks on Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. But what about his opponents in 2020?  Storied politicians like Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, who recently announced presidential bids, have already made well-documented criticisms on companies like Google, and Apple, while up-and-comers Senator Cory....
